Dreams for Hope for Hatch Arts Collective

Dreams for Hope is acting as fiscal sponsor for Hatch Arts Collective, a Pittsburgh-based performance incubator that develops new, interdisciplinary, and queer- or BIPOC-led performance projects. Over the last decade, Hatch has presented 11 productions, hired 100+ artists, and engaged 4,000+ audience members. Hatch collaborates with institutions like Quantum Theatre, Drift, Artist Image Resource, and others to present socially urgent and formally experimental performances. Hatch has produced plays about a queer couple raising four chickens in their backyard and the impacts of Western PA’s addiction to fracking. Often, Hatch productions take place in intimate and unusual venues: a screenprinting studio, a temporary stage built on a river, and an abandoned mall transformed into a crime scene.
