Community Mixtape Project, via 3E Now
$5,000 to The Community Mixtape Project, via fiscal sponsor 3E Now, to purchase two laptop computers and other equipment to create a mobile multimedia production lab. This equipment will enable The Community Mixtape Project to bring their workshops to more sites and communities, including housing shelters, community centers and education organizations.
The Community Mixtape Project harnesses the power of technology-based arts education to amplify the stories of marginalized Pittsburgh youth. They teach youth to create DIY media rooted in personal narrative storytelling. They also share youth-created content online and in person through podcasts, zines and gallery shows.
3E Now educates and empowers the community in order to eliminate dating violence and gender inequality.
