Community Kitchen Pittsburgh

$10,000 to Community Kitchen Pittsburgh (CKP) to support their culinary training and transitional employment programming. CKP’s target clientele experience barriers such as low educational attainment, poverty, past or current incarceration, recovery from addiction, transient/unstable housing, and mental illness.

Community Kitchen Pittsburgh uses food as the foundation to change lives and strengthen communities. CKP provides freshly prepared, healthy contract food services to schools, managed care companies, and other nonprofits, as well as catering services and prepared foods. Their programming–both their workforce training program and our youth education work–are integrated into these business lines. CKP’s culinary training program and transitional employment workforce program target individuals who have barriers to employment.
